COVID-19

May 22, 2020

Hello students and families.

We are praying for you. Thank you for your prayers and patience with us. We’ve been navigating a challenging situation.

I’m speaking to you now on behalf of all the Worldview staff and faculty.

In the midst of this uncertainty, our commitment to our core principles is strong. One of those principles is that we “Value People – not programs” and we are putting that into practice.

Here’s what that looks like.

1) We have clarified our refund policy so that if your week of camp is closed you can select a full refund including the deposit.

2) We have changed our policy so that you can transfer your registration to 2021. If you choose to transfer you will automatically receive our Early Bird rate. It is the very best rate we offer and typically only available after camp on Fridays.

3) We have been committed to exhausting every reasonable option before closing any location of camp. We know you want to come to camp this summer-so do we.

We have been hard at work understanding state requirements and working with universities all across America.

We now know that all locations of camp this summer will be closed.

We are heartbroken, this is hard.

I know you have been counting the days until camp. So have we. The classroom isn’t meant to be empty. Bold ideas and deep conversations belong at camp. You have friends you wanted to see, and we wanted to see you.

We aren’t content to say goodbye this way. That’s why we are offering a new way to connect this summer. Worldview at Home is our new virtual engagement platform.

Worldview at Home will be available to any teens regardless of whether you were registered for camp or not. There will be thought provoking content, live connection with faculty, and interactive discussion groups. We are prioritizing engagement and interaction.

We know nothing online can replace camp; we’re not trying too. This is something new & different.

This won’t be a run of the mill web call. We believe you’ll learn new things, know God more fully, connect with students like you who are eager to learn and have the best week of your life…online.

Stay tuned for more details about Worldview at Home. (Details here)

Thank you for your continued prayer for us and our ministry. As we continue to train Christians to think and live with a biblical worldview. We are praying for you.

PAST ANNOUNCEMENTS

The COVID-19 pandemic has the entire world’s attention and as that increases, our hearts and minds focus on our Worldview families. We know that as you plan for the summer, this pandemic poses some crucial questions. The staff and faculty at Worldview Academy have prayerfully defined a three-fold response:

1.  We’re diligently monitoring developments both world-wide, and specifically as they relate to the locations planned for our camps this summer. As it stands right now, we’re planning on having our full schedule of camps this summer. However, we remain in regular contact with all of those institutions, to help insure that ANY health risks are minimized for our students. We’re committed to communicating with you as new information becomes available.

2.  We’re praying for a covering of protection over our students and their families, as well as praying for wisdom in making good decisions in the days to come.

3.  We’re moving forward based not on fear of the unknown, but based on the sovereignty and grace of the Creator of the universe (and everything in it). We’re looking at this unique time of unfamiliar territory as an opportunity to increase the ministry of Worldview. It will be exciting to see what that looks like.

At this point, we have no plans to cancel or postpone any camps this summer. (5/12/2020) If that changes, we will notify you right away.

If you have more questions, the fastest response will be to email our registrar at [email protected]

Safety of your students is a top priority. At this point, we are moving forward with all 23 of our camps. We’re committed to keeping you in the loop as we monitor national and regional updates, and make plans for mitigating risks this summer. Here are three major elements of our plan:

Medical:
We are enhancing our medical policy. Keeping current on the latest health information, our policy may include a prescreening health questionnaire due the week before your student comes to camp. We are planning for a contingency of increased hand-washing, making masks available, classroom spacing, housing, and the possible need for new quarantine guidelines. We will be finalizing these policies as more is known about effective mitigation.

Locations:
We are planning for the contingency that we may not be able to meet at our scheduled university. It is possible that your week of camp might need to move to a nearby alternate facility. If that becomes necessary, we will let you know right away.

Refunds:
In the event that your Worldview Academy 2020 camp is canceled, there will be several refund options available. You may choose 1 of the 3 following options and indicate your choice via email:

• Your 2020 camp registration may be transferred to the 2021 camp season and the deposit you have already paid will be applied to your account for next year. Each student will also receive our Early Bird credit of $150 off OR any scholarships/credits applied to your account previously. Please email [email protected] and indicate the name(s) of your student(s) that you would like transferred to 2021.

• If you require a refund of your deposit you may apply for one by emailing [email protected]. Keep in mind that if you cancel your registration you will forfeit all credits, scholarships, etc.

• If you would like to support Worldview by donating your deposit to Worldview Academy as a tax-deductible gift please also email [email protected].
